Volunteering has many benefits, for the volunteer as well as the community in or for which the volunteer work is being done. For those expatriating to the Netherlands, arriving as internationals, it can be an excellent way of also building a local network of like-minded people and in many cases, help in building Dutch language skills. Increasingly, through out the Netherlands there are more and more opportunities for volunteering for which little or no Dutch is required.
