Cancer Support Netherlands

Cancer Support Netherlands (CSN) is a Dutch non-profit foundation providing English-language cancer support for people living in the Netherlands. CSN exists to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for internationals, expats, migrants, and others who feel more comfortable accessing emotional and community support in English.

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming for anyone, but for those living abroad it often comes with additional challenges — including language barriers, unfamiliar healthcare systems, and reduced informal support networks. CSN offers welcoming, community spaces where people affected by cancer can find connection, understanding, and practical support alongside others who share similar experiences.

CSN’s work focuses on peer connection, community-building, and wellbeing support. The foundation hosts regular online and in-person events, including talks and workshops led by healthcare professionals and lived-experience speakers, covering topics such as lifestyle medicine, emotional wellbeing, and life during and after cancer.

Community is at the heart of CSN’s approach. Support is offered through facilitated spaces, private peer communities, and public engagement platforms that allow individuals to connect at a pace and depth that feels right for them. Family members, carers, and supporters are also welcome within the wider CSN community.

Cancer Support Netherlands operates nationally, with activities centred in Amsterdam and online, and is expanding its Hive Network in 2026 to strengthen local, community-led support across the Netherlands.
