Amersfoort International School

Amersfoort International School offers English language primary education for children from 4 to 12 years old and is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme.

AIS warmly welcomes students of all nationalities, faiths, beliefs and cultures, aligning with its mission to provide ‘Learning for All.’ By creating a learning community based on inclusion and equal opportunities, the school empowers its students to develop themselves into internationally minded and successful learners in an ever-changing world.

AIS prides itself on its internationally experienced staff. The highly committed team is dedicated to the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in school and in the world beyond. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) offers a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based and student-centered education to enable students to learn between, across and beyond traditional subject boundaries.

The school is located in a newly renovated school building in close proximity to the historic centre of Amersfoort, within the province of Utrecht. AIS is easily accessible by bike, public transportation or car. AIS also partners with local childcare provider Partou to offer after-school care for its students.

The school is a part of the SKOSS-KPOA family of schools, which is one of the largest educational organisations for primary education in Amersfoort and the surrounding area. AIS is one of the latest editions to the network of government subsidised international schools in the Netherlands. These schools deliver high-quality education at affordable fees.
