Expatriate Archive Centre

The Expatriate Archive Centre (EAC) collects and preserves the life stories of expatriates worldwide. However EAC is not simply about gathering material but they also support academic research into expatriation too.

The EAC considers an expat to be anyone who temporarily lives in a country other than their home country. Their collection includes letters, diaries, blogs, photos, videos, and other documents which together give a complete picture of everyday life abroad, from the late 19th century to the present day. They take material in any language and from any country.

The EAC is also interested in repatriation, Third Culture Kids, multilingualism, and other roles and situations adjacent to expat life. They always welcome new contributions from expats and their families, in any language and from any country.

The EAC exists to facilitate quality research that promotes and enhances a better understanding of expatriate life. They are based in the Netherlands but their outreach is global. The EAC is here to serve researchers around the world!
