Dutch healthcare allowance (zorgtoeslag)

Print FAQ

What is zorgtoeslag (healthcare allowance)?

The Dutch government provides a healthcare allowance called zorgtoeslag. This is only for people considered having a low income. If you have a Dutch healthcare insurance and you are over 18 years of age, you can apply for this allowance. The amount of this allowance depends on your income and on your household size (i.e. whether you are single, a single parent or a couple). The amount is decided by the government and changes annually. If you are eligible to receive a healthcare allowance, you can apply for this benefit on the Belastingdienst (Tax Office) website via ‘Mijn toeslagen’ using your DigiD account.
