Expatkamp: Learn Dutch while having fun this summer! (6-16 years)

Expatkamp, an initiative of YES (Young Expat Services) one of ACCESS’ new partners, is an activity planned for Dutch children living abroad (and back in NL for the summer) and expat children living in the Netherlands who attend an international or local Dutch school and may need some extra practice in Dutch. While it is not necessary to speak Dutch to participate in our Expatkamp, there are opportunities to practice language skills, while having fun. Participants will be able to practice the Dutch language while playing sports with (new) friends. While Dutch will be the spoken language during the camp, staff also speak English, and can help with transitions.

PLAYFUL LEARNING

During the lessons, children will learn the Dutch language and the Dutch culture in a playful way through quizzes, Dutch food tastings, and other fun activities. The teacher is specialized in Dutch as a second language.

SPORTS AND GAMES

Next to the language classes, there is also the opportunity to play plenty of different sports. Football in an inflatable field, learning how to play field hockey and competing in exciting relay races. And, on one day, we will have a cricket clinic from a professional cricket player!

I LOVE HOLLAND

Learning is fun! At Expatkamp there is a central theme during the lessons: ‘I love Holland’. All the language lessons will be built around this theme. Wednesday: Dutch painters, Thursday: Dutch Food, Friday: “the I love Holland Quiz”. All contents will be custom made per age and according to level of Dutch.
