Stichting Parenting across Borders
Parenting across Borders (PaB) is a community-driven nonprofit organization based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, supporting international and migrant parents during the first 1,000 days of parenthood—from pregnancy through the early years of a child’s life.
We know from experience that this period can be particularly challenging for parents who are raising children far from their home countries and support networks. We believe that every parent deserves access to reliable information, meaningful support, and a community, regardless of their cultural background, language, or migration history.
Our mission is to promote the wellbeing of parents and young children by creating inclusive spaces where families can connect, learn, and grow together. Through dialogue series and community events, we bring parents from diverse backgrounds together to share experiences, exchange perspectives, build confidence, and navigate the opportunities and challenges of parenthood.
We recognize and celebrate the knowledge, traditions, and lived experiences that migrant families bring with them. By fostering dialogue and understanding between families, professionals, and communities, we help reduce social isolation and contribute to stronger, more connected societies.
In addition, Parenting across Borders collaborates with healthcare providers, municipalities, researchers, and community organizations to ensure that the needs and perspectives of diverse families are reflected in services, policies, and professional practices.
