In the Netherlands, everyone must have health insurance. Children up to 18 are covered by their parents’ health insurance at no extra cost. When you turn 18, you must obtain your own health insurance and pay a premium. If you do nothing, your insurance won’t change, but your parents may have to pay your premium.
