Prenatal yoga helps women before and after they give birth, as well as during the birthing process. The breathing and body awareness developed through yoga help pregnant women find balance between mind-body-spirit during the changes and different stages they live throughout their pregnancy. The gentle stretches and postures help relieve back pain common during pregnancy and help develop the strength & stamina necessary for giving birth. Yoga helps develop an overall healthier body, which then makes it easier to bounce back after birth. Prenatal Yoga has many benefits such as; improving strength, flexibility and endurance, reducing back pain and sciatica, relieving stress and anxiety and improving sleep. In addition, it aids digestion and helps maintain good posture.
Divya Beste Dolanay is an experienced yoga teacher since 2003 and a certified Prenatal Hatha Yoga teacher (YC-Yoga Education Institute). She offers Private and Group Prenatal Hatha Yoga classes in Amsterdam and Amstelveen area. Her aim is to help pregnant women stay connected to their changing bodies, improving awareness and using yoga tools such as breathing & relaxation techniques throughout their pregnancy. She offers safe, secure atmosphere to practice & learn about yoga, with a positive and friendly attitude.
