ACCESS’ Childbirth Preparation Courses continue to grow, flourish and evolve
2019-12-20 | By ACCESS Training Network
2019 has been another record year for ACCESS’ popular childbirth preparation courses, offered in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. This past year has seen a 15% increase in the number of parents ACCESS Trainers in the cities above have supported in their journey to parenthood, and we are delighted to share some news and updates for 2020.
New trainers
We are delighted to introduce the two newest trainers to our network, both experts in their respective fields, internationals who have relocated to the Netherlands, and experienced in providing support to new families. We therefore take pride in welcoming Meida van Baal and Nina Bogerd as our two new trainers in The Hague. They join Truus Gale (Amsterdam), Ria Wiertz (Rotterdam/The Hague) and Chitra Natarajan (Utrecht) in providing our courses.
New locations
Furthermore, we are delighted to announce, as a result of a partnership with our Partners’ True Colors in Rijwijsk, and our trainer Ria Wiertz, the start of a pilot programme offering our childbirth preparation courses in Rijswijk as of February 2020.
Two additional developments include co-operating with our Partners, Big Ben Kids – where our evening as well as weekend courses will be taking place in The Hague; and, as a unique feature of our weekday courses, the introduction of a ‘mother’s only’ session.
Besides providing international families with the knowledge they need to navigate having a child in a country far from home, ACCESS prides itself on providing new parents with a network of fellow internationals in the same situation. As of 2020 we will also include a session for pregnant women only – during our 5 week course (evenings) – where in a more intimate setting, mothers-to-be can discuss and ask questions about more intimate aspects of giving birth.
Dates, times and details of ACCESS’ Childbirth Preparation Courses can be found online. Our trainers suggest that parents to be be at least 26 weeks pregnant or during their third trimester when starting the course. Registration can also be done online.
