Interpersonal Comm. Trainer/Coach
Interpersonal and Inclusive Communication Trainer/Coach
Hello, I am Shoko Dauwels, a trainer/coach helping you find a more effective approach to communicating with others.
Moving to a new country often brings both opportunities and challenges. New routines, new rules, and new expectations can feel unfamiliar—especially when you’re still learning how things work. During this transition, effective interpersonal communication is essential for settling into life and work, building trust with others, and collaborating well with new people. Even after you feel settled, interpersonal communication continues to shape how you handle day-to-day situations and move toward the life you want. In short, strengthening interpersonal communication capabilities – combining practical skills with the understanding and confidence to use them in real situations- helps you thrive in a new environment.
Shoko is an interpersonal communication trainer and coach with 20+ years of experience in learning and communication across both academia and industry. She helps people communicate with clarity and confidence in diverse environments—especially when backgrounds, expectations, and communication styles differ. Her approach is practical and step-by-step: starting with self-understanding, then building techniques you can use immediately in professional and daily-life situations.
Shoko is also passionate about scaling the impact of strong interpersonal communication to support more inclusive communication at the team and organisational level. She helps teams collaborate respectfully while staying aligned on shared goals. Her work strengthens day-to-day interactions—such as giving and receiving feedback, running effective 1-on-1s, navigating group dynamics, and handling tension or conflict constructively.
Her motto is simple: every client’s learning path is different. That’s why Shoko doesn’t use one-size-fits-all programmes. She tailors each workshop or coaching service to the people, the context, and the outcomes you care about—making her sessions a good fit for individuals and SMEs, and equally valuable for team and group programmes within larger organisations.
Originally from Japan, Shoko has studied and worked in five countries across Asia, Europe, and North America. After relocating to the Netherlands in 2021, she co-founded Dauwels&Co. to work more flexibly with clients and support them closely through their challenges. Today, she divides her time between her role at an educational organisation—where she stays closely connected to current instructional design and learning frameworks—and her training and coaching work through Dauwels&Co.
Shoko works in English and Japanese professionally and speaks Dutch in daily life. She loves humour, knitting, music, and cats—her small “resilience toolkit” for whatever unexpected challenges come next.
Shoko is member of ACCESS Supportive Networks.
