First Aid Workshops

ACCESS is delighted to share that we are offering English language First Aid Skills Training workshops in The Hague. Open to all who would like to learn or brush up on their First Aid skills and of particular value for parents of young children. We are delighted to be able to work with Linda Malley and Ingrid Gustafsson-Hilberink on this project.

The Training

Linda Malley has been providing this workshop to and through many organisations in the Netherlands. The feedback is impressive, as is the knowledge she shares. Ingrid Gustafsson-Hilberink is Registered General Nurse working at the British School in Leidschenveen, and is familiar with the challenges in a family. Among the topics covered are: caring for unresponsive breathing casualties; CPR; choking; wounds; bleeding; shock and seizures. Some hands-on examples of what to do with minor injuries – sprains and strains; head injury; burns, bites and stings, severe allergic reaction; heat exhaustion and asthma, will also be covered.

The Trainers

Linda Bosma-Malley trained as a Registered General Nurse in the UK, specialising in Paediatrics. Having worked in Neurology as a nurse in the Netherlands and as a First Aid Trainer during her family’s time in South Africa, Linda understands the importance of providing people with the skills and confidence to respond effectively to accidents or sudden illness. Linda is a registered and certified First Aid Trainer, qualified to teach and assess a full range of first aid courses.

Ingrid had a varied background, before becoming a psychiatric nurse for children for 10 years. She has lived in Sweden, Dubai and Portugal. And has been in the Netherlands since 2015.

Both are dedicated to teaching people the necessary skills that can make the difference when it really counts.

“I really appreciated the way how the course was held by Ingrid, professional, interactive and fun too. A lot of information was passed, time for practice too. I really liked and I count to do it again in the future. Thank you for organizing it.”

January 2025, about Ingrid by Pamela

“Linda has great energy, she is very knowledgeable and kind to answer all questions and concerns. She made sure that we had a warm and personalized welcome (very nice touch that she remembered all our names). There was a safe atmosphere to practice the techniques and ask questions. The group size was good too. timing was good a well: 2 hours is a fair time, not too long not too short. Overall the course was really worth the investment, and I highly recommend it to everybody handling babies especially first time parents. At the end of the class I felt confident that I have the essential knowledge and skills to save my baby in case of emergency. Thank you so much Linda! (special mention to Linda’s banana bread, definitely a highlight).”
