The IHCH view on prevention

Are you used to regular medical checkups by your health care provider in your home country?
You may have noticed, that the Dutch health care system is primarily focused on cure and not on prevention. If you wish to have an (annual) health check up while you are in the Netherlands, you will have to try and arrange it yourself and most Dutch family practices will not be equipped to cover your needs.
The IHCH (International Health Centre The Hague) recognizes this problem and offers an individualized prevention program, based on your risk factors, age and current health status. The program consists of a forty-minute consultation with the prevention doctor, including a questionnaire, a physical examination, blood analysis, and other diagnostic tests if needed. Results will be shared in a second consultation together with potential advice for a follow-up examination or life style changes. A final report will be mailed to you for future reference.
If medical issues are discovered, our prevention department will directly arrange further consultations with your general practitioner or a specialist.
For whom is this program available?
This program is available to our registered patients for a co-payment of €95 not including costs for potential diagnostic tests. If you are not registered for primary care with IHCH, you may still participate in this program, in which case cost will be €165, excluding costs for additional diagnostic tests.
Tests not included in the basic check, (for example allergy tests, spirometry or mole-mapping) can of course be added upon your request. For a full list of possible extra tests please visit our website www.ihch.nl.
