Kickstart School: Flexibility is key to language learning | ACCESS
2014-03-25 | By Letitia Baker
Relocating to the Netherlands can be challenging. You have to negotiate visas, registration, insurance, work, and accommodation – all while trying to navigate cultural differences and make new friends.
By the time you finally get around to enrolling in a language school, you realise you have missed the starting date for your course!
At Kickstart School, we are flexible and want to help expats get settled and started with their language learning as soon as possible. That’s why we’ve introduced our online learning platform, to help celebrate our 12,5 year Jubileum. KickstartNet is a vibrant new digital learning environment, full of resources and activities specially designed by our teachers, for our students.
New online learning platform – KickstartNet
You can start learning Dutch or English as soon as you enrol, regardless of whether your course starts in one or six weeks. Additionally, if you’re unsure about which what level to enrol in, you have the opportunity to try different exercises on KickstartNet, so that you can get a feel for the right language level for you.
We understand that expats need flexibility to manage their commitments. KickstartNet takes language learning beyond the classroom and provides you with options. Do you have an unavoidable meeting or business trip? Do you have family visiting all the way from home? KickstartNet enables you to keep up with the coursework, catch up on lessons you’ve missed, and stay in touch with your trainer and peers.
‘Flexibility and creativity are today’s main keywords and Kickstart School has this to offer and more.’ – Former student Alessandro d’Addario, European Law Enforcement
Nothing can replace the importance of face-to-face lessons. KickstartNet, however, provides a means of extending that learning process beyond a few hours of face-to-face interaction each week. By providing a wealth of language resources in manageable chunks, KickstartNet helps you practise and improve your skills throughout the week. Film clips, songs, articles, grammar quizzes, pronunciation exercises, and more, complement your weekly lessons to give you a daily dose of language training and keep your brain active through repetition and reinforcement.
‘KickstartNet gives me different ways and possibility [sic] to improve my English. The key thing is that I can see my mistakes and my progress. If I fail, I try again. KickstartNet is very helpful in studying English. I use it as often as possible.’ – Intermediate student Dorota Ziorkiewicz
Kickstart School’s 12,5 Year Jubileum
KickstartNet is only one of our many innovations. Over the past 12,5 years, we have continually sought to expand the range of courses and options available to our students. We now offer general, business, conversation, culture, writing, online, exam preparation, and children’s courses.
We would love for you to help us celebrate our 12,5 Jubileum anniversary by trying out our combination of face-to-face teaching and online learning for yourself.
