Every Day is a Prime Day to Visit ASH

At American School of The Hague (ASH), any school day is a good day to visit us. Here, we believe that the best time to see our school is one that works for you and your child. So please get in touch with us and let our admissions team share the ASH experience with you. Our house is always open and we are always keen to welcome you.
At ASH, every member of the school community will contribute to your child’s learning. So when you visit us, you will also have a chance to interact with our students and teachers as you tour our campus. With more than 1,200 students representing 76 nationalities, the opportunities for rich cultural exchange and learning have no boundaries.
Choose the Curriculum That Suits Your Child
We offer an American style curriculum adapted to an international student body and have a dedicated Early Childhood Center for our youngest learners, aged 3 to 6 years. With options for a US High School Diploma, the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement, or a combination of these, coupled with strong Arts and Athletics programs, the opportunities for learning at ASH are deep and rich.
A Unique & Creative Learning Environment
As you tour our campus, you’ll explore the many learning opportunities unique to ASH – some in the classroom, some outside of it. If you were to visit the High School Library in November, you would have walked through a wonderful poetry installation by students as result of their visit to the Voorlinden Museum in Wassenaar. After learning about ekphrastic poetry, the students submerged themselves into the visual art at Voorlinden, drawing inspiration for their poetry. This cross-disciplinary approach combining the Visual and Language Arts encourages students to think holistically and creatively.
Taking full advantage of our local surroundings and getting involved with our wider community provide for rich learning opportunities. Our students often host visiting students who attend academic, athletic and arts events, such as the recent NESDA Speech and Debate Tournament where ASH hosted 100 High School students from 9 international schools across Europe and debated for three days on the topic “Speak for Peace, Stand for Justice – with an inspiring keynote speech by Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, President of the International Criminal Court. On the same weekend, our athletes hosted one of the many competitions they participate in throughout the year – the 36th Annual Basketball Tournament, where they housed our international visiting teams from across Europe. The Theater Department has also been busy hosting 54 student guests from around the world for the International Schools Theatre Association Festival (ISTA). Together, they explored the nature and power of water and the way it shapes our lives.
A Little Further From Home
Meanwhile in Disney Paris, the ASH High School Band and Choir participated in the Disney Performing Arts Program in two simultaneously held workshops in musical theater and instrumental music performance, culminating in public performances in the park on the Videopolis Stage. A little earlier in the year, our International Baccalaureate Group IV Science and Computer Science High Schoolers could be found out on the mud flats in Texel undertaking a cross discipline project trip where they work together to define their project, undertake all the necessary research and deliver results to their teachers and classmates. With no assistance from their teachers, this is a purely student-driven project and a one that has become the template for other international schools.
Choosing your child’s school is one of the most important life decisions you will make, and at ASH we help you understand your options. Every school is different and getting the right fit for your child is a key part of our job.
