International graduates often stay in the Netherlands

An increasing number of international graduates stay in the Netherlands. Between 2008 and 2014 the number of international graduates grew 68%. 

More technical and science graduates stay 

An increasing number of graduates in the field of technology and science find a job in the Netherlands. From the graduates in science or technology in 2008, about 49 % was still in the Netherlands in 2014.

Graduates from Universities of Applied Science stayed more often than those from  Research Universities.  They also had more often a job in the Netherlands.

The majority works in the sector business services. Government and healthcare are other sectors attracting many technology and science graduates as well as those from other fields. 

Benefits for the economy

It is estimated that 25% of all international graduates stay in the Netherlands. According to the Dutch Statistics Office (CBS), this group contributes € 1.57 billion to the Dutch economy.
