“Welcome to  Loosduinen” - walking tour and lecture

Description

The Hague Bridge invites you to a special event in city district Loosduinen. The event will start with a walking tour through Ockenburg Estate and will end at beachresort Kijkduin. In Kijkduin a lecture about the history of the former villageLoosduinen and the dynamics of Kijkduin will be held by Willem Post with a special surprise guest!

Programme:

18:45 - Assemble at the Brasserie OCK (Monsterseweg 4)

19:00 - Start walking tour from Ockenburg Estate to Kijkduin

20:00 - Arrival at the NH Atlantic Hotel in Kijkduin (Deltaplein 200) with coffee and tea

20:30 - Welcoming by Saskia Bruines, the Alderman of Loosduinen

20:40 - Lecture by Willem Post on the dynamics of Kijkduin and the 13th century legendary Wonder

of Margaretha of Henneberg

21:30 - End of the lecture with a drink and a bite

22:00 - Closing

It’s also possible for you to join us for the lecture only. We have room for 80 people for the lecture. Please let us know when you register if you wish to participate in the full programme or just the lecture.

- The tour and lecture will be in English.

- Only 35 can join for the full programme. So sign up quickly!

- Please keep in mind that we end at a different location than where the walking tour starts. Kijkduin can be reached by public transport (busses 23 and 26).

About The Hague Bridge

The Hague Bridge is a programme of the Municipality of The Hague. The Hague Bridge organises events to bring together locals and internationals, promote The Hague as the International City of Peace & Justice, and encourage city pride among the residents of The Hague.This event is organised together with Den Haag Greeters, Hanneke Bessling (Licht op Loosduinen) and the Arie Molenkamp Stichting. The lecture is linked to the musical “The Wonder of Margaretha and the Birth of The Hague”, which will take place on 12, 13, 19 and20 May in the Abdijkerk of Loosduinen (Dutch only).
