Guildhall Graduates - IS REAL REAL? - The English Theatre

Koninklijke Schouwburg (Paradijs) - Korte Voorhout 3, 2511 CW The Hague
Parktheater – Theaterpad 1, 5615 EN Eindhoven

Yearly STET presents young talents from Britain’s prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The performers have been selected to show their solo-work in September in The Hague in the Koninklijke Schouwburg – Paradijs theatre and in Eindhoven - Parktheater

The STET team regularly visits Guildhall in London to find new performing talents. It provides you, the audience, with a unique opportunity to see possible stars of the future. Amongst former young talents we count Michaela Coel (2012). She showed Chewing Gum Dreams in The Hague as part of the STET young talent programme. This show has since become a major West End show and TV-series. Michaela won in 2016 the BAFTA award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme. Guildhall has some famous names amongst its alumni including Lily James, who starred in Disney’s Cinderella in 2016 as well as the naughty Lady Rose in Downton Abbey.

As this year’s presentation will be the last in the current format,  we have chosen three talents who graduated in the last three years from Guildhall. As from 2018 STET’s young talent programme will change as we like to include also other international young talent outside the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

This year our young talents examine the question Is REAL REAL?
Iniki Mariano with ORBIT  - A tour of the International Space Station
Michael Golab with SHEPHERD  - Coming home
Nathan Coenen with BAROOGA  -  A mystical journey through golden moments that defined Australia

These solo-pieces look at life from three different perspectives journeying through time and space.

Education is a very important element of STET's work. Most productions are presented with an education programme. Our education  department works all over the Netherlands with both international and Dutch schools. Therefore the actors of GG17 will visit the American School of The Hague in Wassenaar and give general and technique workshops to students. They also offer in a one on one meeting the possibility to discuss and advice on auditioning for a British dramaschool.
